A-TACS vs MULTICAM

Which is a better concealment system?

A-TACS® vs. MultiCam®

The revolutionary A-TACS® camouflage uses organically shaped pixels and natural colors to blend effortlessly into urban, arid and rocky environments. MultiCam® uses a technique called dithering to create the illusion of layered colors and patterns, which thrives in greener environments. A-TACS® does not replace MultiCam®, but rather adds to the diversity of patterns available to tactical professionals.

A Glance at MultiCam

Multicam is a 7-color camoflage pattern designed to help the wearer blend into a broad spectrum of backgrounds regardless of environment, season, elevation and lighting. Multicam uniforms disguise volume and shape, reflect the surrounding environment and balance scale and contrast. This pattern is currently in use by some units of the US military's Special Operations Command, and some private military contractors. Several members of the US Army's 2nd Battalion, 12th Infantry Regiment, Charlie Company were also spotted wearing MultiCam in the field. Some law enforcement agencies also make use of the pattern, including the Drug Enforcement Agency DEA FAST teams operating Afghanistan as well as the Department of Homeland Security ICE SRT and the Spokane Police department. The United States Air Force just recently announced that they will be adopting use of MultiCam for some of their uniforms.
